Mission Fateh: 11006 samples for COVID-19 taken in Ludhiana district
Recovery rate of COVID-19 patients reaches at 88.11%
Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma today informed that under the “Mission Fateh” of the Punjab government, the number of COVID-19 patients getting cured in district Ludhiana is increasing with each passing day. He said that there are 7804 active patients in the district at present.
He said that sincere efforts are being made to keep people safe from Covid-19. He said that a total of 561 patients (507 new patients from district Ludhiana and 54 from other states/districts) have tested positive in the last 24 hours.
He further said that till date, a total of 1270244 samples have been taken, out of which a report of 1269795 samples have been received, of which 1177696 samples were found negative while reports of 449 samples were pending. He said that now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 81525, while 10574 patients belong to other districts/states.
He said that unfortunately, 25 patients lost their lives today (15 from district Ludhiana, 2 from Fatehgarh Sahib, 2 from Jalandhar while one each from districts Gurdaspur, Sangrur, Moga, Muktsar Sahib, state Himachal Pradesh and Haryana). Now, the total number of persons who lost their lives including 1889 people from Ludhiana and 936 from other districts.
He said that whenever the District Administration and Health Department Ludhiana finds out about any positive or suspected COVID 19 person, their samples are immediately sent for testing. Similarly, 11006 samples of suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results are expected shortly.
Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma appealed to the residents to adhere all the safety protocols like wearing masks, maintaining social distance and washing hands frequently of the Punjab government to not only save themselves but keeping everyone around safe.
