Mission Fateh: 14580 Samples for Covid-19 taken in Ludhiana District
Recovery rate of COVID-19 patients reaches at 86.06 per cent
Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma today informed that under the “Mission Fateh” of the Punjab government, the number of COVID-19 patients getting cured in district Ludhiana is increasing with each passing day. He said that there are 9355 active patients in the district at present.
He said that sincere efforts are being made to keep people safe from Covid-19. He said that a total of 665 patients (582 new patients from district Ludhiana and 83 from other states/districts) have tested positive in the last 24 hours.
He further said that till date, a total of 1245169 samples have been taken, out of which a report of 1244738 samples have been received, of which 1153888 samples were found negative while reports of 431 samples were pending. He said that now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 80421, while 10429 patients belong to other districts/states.
He said that unfortunately, 22 patients lost their lives today (17 from district Ludhiana while one each from districts Barnala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ferozepur, Sri Muktsar Sahib and state Himachal Pradesh). Now, the total number of persons who lost their lives including 1854 people from Ludhiana and 914 from other districts.
He said that whenever the District Administration and Health Department Ludhiana finds out about any positive or suspected COVID 19 person, their samples are immediately sent for testing. Similarly, 14580 samples of suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results are expected shortly.
Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma appealed to the residents to adhere all the safety protocols like wearing masks, maintaining social distance and washing hands frequently of the Punjab government to not only save themselves but keeping everyone around safe.
