Mission Fateh: 1601 samples for COVID-19 taken in Ludhiana district

Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma today informed that under the “Mission Fateh” of the Punjab government, the number of COVID-19 patients getting cured in district Ludhiana is increasing with each passing day. He said that there are 247 active patients in the district at present.

He said that sincere efforts are being made to keep people safe from Covid-19. He said that a total of 21 patients (14 new patients from district Ludhiana and 7 from other states/districts) have tested positive in the last 24 hours.

He further said that till date, a total of 574669 samples have been taken, out of which a report of 572885 samples have been received, of which 543740 samples were found negative while reports of 1784 samples were pending. He said that now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 25312, while 3833 patients belong to other districts/states.

He said that unfortunately, 3 patients lost their lives today (2 from district Ludhiana and 1 from state Jammu and Kashmir).

Now, the total number of persons who lost their lives including 983 people from Ludhiana and 468 from other districts.

He informed that till date, 55816 persons have been kept under home quarantine in the district and at present, the number of such persons is 794. Today, 44 persons were sent for home quarantine.

He said that whenever the District Administration and Health Department Ludhiana finds out about any positive or suspected COVID 19 person, their samples are immediately sent for testing. Similarly, 1601 samples of suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results are expected shortly.

Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma appealed to the residents to adhere all the safety protocols like wearing masks, maintaining social distance and washing hands frequently of the Punjab government to not only save themselves but keeping everyone around safe.
