Mission Fateh: 3025 samples for Covid-19 taken in Ludhiana district
Recovery rate of Covid-19 patients reaches at 94.31 per cent
Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma today informed that under the “Mission Fateh” of the Punjab government, the number of COVID-19 patients getting cured in district Ludhiana is increasing with each passing day. He said that there are 504 active patients in the district at present.
He said that sincere efforts are being made to keep people safe from Covid-19. He said that a total of 65 patients (55 new patients from district Ludhiana and 10 from other states/districts) have tested positive in the last 24 hours.
He further said that till date, a total of 658372 samples have been taken, out of which a report of 656533 samples have been received, of which 625455 samples were found negative while reports of 1839 samples were pending. He said that now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 26916, while 4162 patients belong to other districts/states.
He said that unfortunately, 2 patients lost their lives today ( 1 each from districts Nawanshahar and Mansa). Now, the total number of persons who lost their lives including 1023 people from Ludhiana and 502 from other districts.
He informed that till date, 57479 persons have been kept under home quarantine in the district and at present, the number of such persons is 981. Today, 86 persons were sent for home quarantine.
He said that whenever the District Administration and Health Department Ludhiana finds out about any positive or suspected COVID 19 person, their samples are immediately sent for testing. Similarly, 3025 samples of suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results are expected shortly.
Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma appealed to the residents to adhere all the safety protocols like wearing masks, maintaining social distance and washing hands frequently of the Punjab government to not only save themselves but keeping everyone around safe.
