Mission Fateh: 66.70pc covid positive patients fully cured in District Ludhiana till now
Till date, 4398 patients out of total 6593 fully cured: Deputy Commissioner
Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Mr Varinder Sharma today informed that residents should not panic as the District Administration and health department is working 24X7 for the safety of residents. He informed that under the “Mission Fateh” of the Punjab government, the number of COVID 19 patients getting cured in district Ludhiana is increasing with each passing day.
He informed that till date, 66.70% (4398 covid positive patients) out of total 6593 patients have been fully cured while many more are recovering in government and private hospitals. He urged the residents not to panic as Covid is totally curable disease. He said that people should immediately get themselves tested for Covid whenever they feel like having any Covid like symptoms. He said that time saved between developing symptoms and testing is very crucial, but when people do not get themselves tested despite having symptoms, sometimes their health deteriorates, which leads to unfortunate incidents.
He said that for the welfare of residents, several testing centres have been started in the city. He said that testing in government centres is totally free of cost and people should visit their nearest centres in case they have any symptoms.
He informed that for the welfare of residents, the number of samples taken daily has been increased. He said that whenever District Administration and Health Department Ludhiana finds out that about any positive or suspected COVID 19 person, their samples are immediately sent for testing. Similarly, 2340 samples of suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results are expected shortly.
The Deputy Commissioner said that there are 1951 active patients in the district at present. A total of 4398 patients have been declared fully cured in the district.
He said that sincere efforts are being made to keep people safe from Covid 19. He said that a total of 282 patients (266 new patients from district Ludhiana and 16 from other states/districts) have tested positive in last 24 hours time.
He further said that till date, a total of 84995 samples have been taken, out of which report of 82529 samples has been received, of 75213 samples is negative and report of 2466 samples is pending. He said that now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 6593, while 723 patients are related to other districts/states.
He said that unfortunately 18 patients (15 from district Ludhiana, 2 from Jalandhar and one from Jammu & Kashmir) lost their lives today. Now, the total number of persons who lost their lives include 241 people from Ludhiana and 54 from other districts have lost their lives.
He informed that till date, 27944 persons have been kept under home quarantine in the district and at present, the number of such persons is 5066. Today, 477 persons were sent for home quarantine.
Mr Sharma appealed to the residents to follow all directions of the Punjab government and if they would stay indoors, they would not only stay safe themselves, but would also contribute in keeping everyone around safe.
