While the DFSC Ludhiana has penned the lyrics, Food Supply Inspector Jaswinder Pandher has lent his melodious voice with Inspector Kamal Bhangu overseeing camera and direction.
We have been in the field continuously since the outbreak, and have been fighting the virus at forefront, said DFSC Gill adding motivation behind writing song was to highlight immense spirit and resilience of department in face of difficulty. He expressed his gratitude to the Minister for always being generous and forthcoming towards any request by staff. Pertinently, the department has just completed mammoth wheat procurement exercise during which massive 128 LMTs of produce was procured in around 40 days with not even a single instance of virus related infection reported from 4000 mandis across the state. The number of mandis had been increased from existing 1500 to 4000 to ensure strict compliance of social distancing norms.
Further, in Ludhiana alone, so far over 5 Lakh packets of dry ration have been distributed besides regular distribution of wheat to more than 14 Lakh 45 thousand beneficiaries. Another five lakhs dry ration packs would be provided to needy within this week.
