Mission Fateh: Ground level awareness activities conclude in District Ludhiana
Weeklong activities were well received by residents: Deputy Commissioner
Ludhiana: The week-long ground level awareness campaign regarding Mission Fateh of the Punjab government, that has been started to educate the masses about Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19), have concluded in the district Ludhiana successfully today. Deputy Commissioner Mr Varinder Sharma thanked all stakeholders, including various government departments, NGOs and residents, for successfully carrying out the awareness activities.
Mr Sharma informed that ground activities of the public awareness campaign 'Mission Fateh' were organised in the district from June 15 to 21, 2020. Launched under the aegis of Information and Public Relations Department of Punjab government, Mission Fateh campaign was launched to make the people aware about the precautionary measures taken by the government and the health department to prevent the spread of Corona virus in all rural and urban areas of the state.
He said that this awareness campaign under Mission Fateh would continue till the time we completely weed out Covid 19. He informed that on June 15, the district administration handed over the badges of Mission Fateh to the Corona Warriors. Similarly, on June 16, the Anganwadi workers wearing badges visited the homes of the Anganwadi children in their respective villages and motivated them to take precautionary measures against the Corona virus.
The Sarpanches of the villages met people of their respective villages by putting up badges and made them aware of the important precautionary measures to be taken for the prevention of Covid on June 17. The District Public Relations Office carried a special awareness campaign in the district on June 18. Such awareness activities by district NGOs were carried out on June 19 in their respective areas by affixing badges, the district police educated masses in their respective areas on June 20 and today, Municipal Corporation, Municipal councils carried awareness campaign through resident welfare committees, etc.
At Kitchlu Nagar area, MC Councillor Mr Sunny Bhalla carried out an awareness drive amongst the residents of his ward.
The badge wearing snaps have been sent to the district administration for uploading on the Cova app by the Corona Warriors wearing a badge and a mask. These Corona Warriors include administrative, police, doctors, medical staff, Asha workers, Anganwadi workers, safai workers, NGOs, Sarpanches, NGOs etc. Apart from this the Punjab Government would select the person/organisation uploading their photo on the Cova app at the state level, the list of which would be sent to the district administration so that they would be encouraged through badges and t-shirts.
Mr Varinder Sharma said that the Mission Fateh Warriors would be chosen through Cova app and people willing to participate in this contest would have to download the Cova app on their mobile phone and registration on this app has already started. He appealed to the residents to follow the government guidelines and make Mission Fateh successful.
