Under aegis of District Red Cross Society, NGOs educate people by visiting door to door
Ludhiana: Under the Mission Fateh of the Punjab government, the awareness drive in district Ludhiana is going on in full swing. Several NGOs, under the aegis of District Red Cross Society Ludhiana today carried out awareness drive regarding Covid 19 in different parts of district Ludhiana.
Mr Balbir Ayry, Secretary, District Red Cross Society Ludhiana, also encouraged the NGO members by distributing Mission Fateh badges. He said that Covid 19 was not only a disease, but the repercussions associated with it led to several other problems. He said that the people from lower economic strata were worst affected. He said that although the Punjab government made efforts to ensure that no person sleeps hungry during lockdown, several NGOs also came forward for this noble cause and distributed dry ration as well as cooked food amongst people.
While appreciating the role of organisations and youth clubs associated with civil and police administration, Mr Ayry said that whenever people suffer from difficulties, Ludhianvis always lend a helping hand to such persons. He urged such organisations to carry out social service, but should also keep the precautions in mind so that we can make Ludhiana district COVID 19 free.
