Mission Red Sky: Administration ensures jobs to 200 drug-dependents
DC asks officials to expedite the process of bringing back 500 drug dependents to mainstream by November 30
Ludhiana, September 24, 2021: As many as 200 drug dependents have been ensured employment by the district administration Under Mission Red Sky in Ludhiana, said Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Friday while reviewing the progress made under the program.
Accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (D) Amit Kumar Panchal, Sharma said that the district administration has deployed 50 officials of various departments to identify 500 drug dependents, 10 of each to provide them job opportunities through skill development or training program.
He said that under this mission, each of the officials had identified 10 drug dependents that would be provided with various job opportunities besides enhancing their capabilities through skill development/training programs so that they can earn a livelihood like others.
He said that by November 30, the target of employment opportunities to 500 drug dependants would be achieved. He also asked the officers of District Bureau of Employment & Enterprises (DBEE) to provide these drug dependents with self-employment opportunities.
Sharma also told them to arrange for their skill development training so that they can avail the benefit of various job opportunities.
The Deputy Commissioner also lauded the whole team of, Ludhiana (DBEE) for securing first position in the state by generating maximum employment in the state.
