MLA Bagga conducts meeting with MC Chief  regarding monsoon preparations and development works

Ludhiana, June 20, 2024: Taking steps in advance to avoid water logging during the rainy season, Ludhiana North MLA Madan Lal Bagga conducted a meeting with Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Sandeep Rishi and other concerned officials regarding monsoon preparations at MC Zone D office on Thursday. 

During the meeting, MLA Bagga also directed the officials to expedite the development works being taken up in Ludhiana North constituency. 

These works included the project to construct the road on the other side of the Buddha nullah, improving road infrastructure, developing green spaces around the nullah etc. 

Further MLA Bagga directed the concerned officials of operations and maintenance (O&M) cell to expedite the desilting (cleaning) process of buddha nullah. Also the banks of the nullah should be strengthened before the monsoon season to avoid waterlogging during the rainy season.

MLA Bagga also asked the officials that the road gullies should be cleaned before monsoon hits the city and sand bags should also be prepared in advance. The sand bags are used to strengthen the banks of nullah, if required. 

MLA Bagga said that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led state government is committed for overall development and a large number of development works are being taken up in the North constituency. The officials have been directed to ensure that there is no compromise with the quality of works. Every effort is also being made to avoid water logging during the rainy season.
 
MLA Bagga and MC Commissioner Sandeep Rishi further appealed the residents to stop dumping of waste in open areas as the waste chokes the sewer system which ultimately results in water logging.
