MLA Bagga, DC Jorwal distribute Harit-Punjab city compost to residents under ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ campaign
2024: Working under the ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ campaign, Ludhiana North MLA Madan Lal Bagga and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jitendra Jorwal distributed Harit-Punjab city compost free of cost among the residents during a camp in Salem Tabri area on Friday.
Ludhiana, September 20, 2024: Working under the ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ campaign, Ludhiana North MLA Madan Lal Bagga and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jitendra Jorwal distributed Harit-Punjab city compost free of cost among the residents during a camp in Salem Tabri area on Friday.
‘Swachhta hi Sewa’ campaign was earlier launched by the Municipal Corporation (MC) Ludhiana and District Administration to spread awareness among residents to promote cleanliness and reduce, reuse and recycle waste. The campaign will continue till October 2 (Swachh Bharat Diwas).
The officials stated that Harit-Punjab City compost is the compost made out of wet waste by the civic body and it was distributed among the residents free of cost during the camps which were organised in different parts of the city on Friday. The camps were organised in Salem Tabri area, Jalandhar bypass, Nehru Rose Garden, Sector 32 on Chandigarh road among other areas. The aim was to encourage the residents to make compost out of the wet household waste (kitchen waste).
MLA Bagga and DC Jorwal appealed to the residents to support the authorities in improving solid waste management in the city. The residents were appealed to make compost out of the wet household waste and try to reduce, reuse and recycle the waste in their respective households.
