MLA Bagga flags off intensified fogging drive in city to check mosquito menace
With an aim to check the mosquito menace and keep the residents safe from mosquito borne diseases like dengue, Ludhiana North MLA Madan Lal Bagga flagged off intensified fogging drive in the city from Basti Jodhewal chowk on Sunday.
Ludhiana, October 8, 2023: With an aim to check the mosquito menace and keep the residents safe from mosquito borne diseases like dengue, Ludhiana North MLA Madan Lal Bagga flagged off intensified fogging drive in the city from Basti Jodhewal chowk on Sunday.
Already taking up the fogging drive across the city, Municipal Corporation (MC) has further intensified the drive to keep the residents safe from mosquito borne diseases.
Fogging drives would now be conducted twice a day as per the schedule prepared by the department.
MLA Madan Lal Bagga and MC Commissioner Sandeep Rishi stated that 10 big fogging machines and 95 small fogging machines have already been deployed for taking up fogging drive in all the wards of the city. Now the drive would be further intensified and fogging would be done twice a day especially in the high risk areas.
The high risk areas have been identified by the district health department (civil surgeon office) and the list has also been provided to the civic body for taking up fogging drives in those areas.
The civic body has prepared the schedule and intensified fogging drive is now being taken up in each of the 95 wards of the city including the high risk areas.
Accompanied by MC Joint Commissioner Kulpreet Singh and CSO Ashwani Sahota among others, MLA Bagga said that joint teams of MC and district health department (anti-larvae team) have also been conducting inspections in the city to destroy dengue larvae.
MLA Bagga and MC Commissioner Sandeep Rishi stated that they have also been monitoring the situation and strict directions have been issued to the concerned staff that there should be no laxity in taking up fogging drives across the city.
Meanwhile MLA Bagga and Sandeep Rishi also appealed the residents to avoid stagnant water in their houses and surrounding areas as dengue mosquitoes breed in stagnant waters.
