MLA Bagga, Mayor, MC Chief and WB team review surface water supply project
With an aim to expedite the survey and designing works under the world bank (WB) and AIIB funded canal based water supply project, Ludhiana North MLA Madan Lal Bagga, Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur, Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal and World Bank officials reviewed the ongoing works during a meeting held at MC Zone D office on Wednesday.

Ludhiana, January 22, 2025: With an aim to expedite the survey and designing works under the world bank (WB) and AIIB funded canal based water supply project, Ludhiana North MLA Madan Lal Bagga, Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur, Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal and World Bank officials reviewed the ongoing works during a meeting held at MC Zone D office on Wednesday.
The world bank team was led by Senior Water Specialist Srinivas Podipireddy and task team leader Rosanna Nitti. Suryanarayana, BKD Raja, Ram Anindo, Navika among other officials were part of WB team. The officials also visited village Bilga (near Sahnewal), where a world class 580 mld water treatment plant (WTP) has to be established under the project.
MC Joint Commissioner Ankur Mahindroo, Chief Engineer Ravinder Garg, SE (projects) Parul Goyal among other officials were present in the review meeting.
The officials stated that field survey and designing works are going on for establishing the the water treatment plant (WTP) and regular meetings of project monitoring committee (PMC) are being held to expedite the works. NOCs are also being obtained from different departments in advance so that there is no delay in taking up civil works after completion of survey.
MLA Bagga, Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur and MC Commissioner Dachalwal issued directions to further expedite the field survey and designing works, so that the civil work could be commenced under the project at the earliest.
