MLA Bagga, MC Chief direct officials to ensure cleanliness; fill vacant posts of sweepers 

Ludhiana, July 24, 2024: With an aim to ensure cleanliness in various wards of the constituency, Ludhiana North MLA Madan Lal Bagga conducted a meeting with Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Sandeep Rishi and other officials of health branch and O&M cell at MC Zone A office on Wednesday. 
 
During the meeting, MLA Bagga held detailed discussions with the authorities and directed them to fill the vacant posts of the sweepers in various wards of the constituency, so that the sanitation work is not affected.

MLA Bagga stated that no laxity would be tolerated in this context and officials would be held responsible, if there is any complaint regarding lack of sanitation.

The legislator also directed the officials to ensure proper working of static compactor sites so that the garbage should not be dumped in the open. MLA Bagga also directed the officials to ensure no dumping of garbage in Buddha nullah and awareness drives should also be conducted in the areas falling under the vicinity of the nullah. 

MLA Bagga further directed the officials to ensure regular cleaning of sewer lines to avoid water logging during the rainy season. 

MLA Bagga said that they are also submitting a proposal with the state government for filling the vacant posts of sweepers on a permanent basis, as many sweepers have also retired and different posts are lying vacant. 

MLA Bagga said that he has been conducting field inspections in the constituency on a regular basis and will continue to do so to ensure that residents should not face any problem at ground level. He said that the authorities have also been directed to expedite different development works which are being taken up in Ludhiana North constituency.
