MLA Gogi inaugurates much awaited two-day 'Flower and Baby Show' at Nehru Rose Garden
The much awaited two-day 'Flower and Baby Show' of Municipal Corporation (MC) Ludhiana was inaugurated by Ludhiana West MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi at Nehru Rose Garden on Saturday.
Ludhiana, February 24, 2024: The much awaited two-day 'Flower and Baby Show' of Municipal Corporation (MC) Ludhiana was inaugurated by Ludhiana West MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi at Nehru Rose Garden on Saturday.
Large number of residents thronged the show on the first day and healthy competitions were witnessed in the competitions.
Around hundred entries were received for 'pot flower' competitions and others on the first day of the show. School students, government departments, institutes etc participated in the competitions.
The 'Flower and Baby show' will continue on Sunday and different competitions including Baby Show (for different age groups), 'cut flower' competition, Rangoli, painting competitions etc will be held on the second day of the show.
MC Superintending Engineer (SE) Sanjay Kanwar said that for more information regarding the show and submission of entries, residents can contact MC Landscape Officer Rajinder Singh and Junior Engineer (Horticulture) Kirpal Singh.
After inaugurating the show on Saturday, MLA Gogi also interacted with the visitors and residents participating in different competitions. He appreciated the efforts of the civic body in organising the show and encouraged the residents participating in the competitions.
MLA Gogi further appealed the residents to join hands for promoting greenery by planting more trees in their surroundings. He further stated that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led state government is also working on these lines and combined efforts by residents and authorities will help us in achieving our goal of nature conservation.
Prize distribution ceremony will also be held on the second day (Sunday) and MC Commissioner Sandeep Rishi will preside over the prize distribution ceremony. The winners will be conferred with trophies and certificates.
MC officials including Executive Engineer Manjitinder Singh, Executive Engineer Surinder Singh, JE Kirpal Singh, Health officer Vipal Malhotra among others also participated in the show on Saturday.
