MLA Gogi inaugurates second RUB at Pakhowal road railway crossing
Fulfilling the promise made to the public to open the second railway under bridge (RUB) at the Pakhowal road railway crossing by August 15, Ludhiana West MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi inaugurated the RUB on Monday.
Ludhiana, August 14, 2023: Fulfilling the promise made to the public to open the second railway under bridge (RUB) at the Pakhowal road railway crossing by August 15, Ludhiana West MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi inaugurated the RUB on Monday.
The RUB is part of Pakhowal road ROB/RUBs project which is being taken up under smart city mission at the cost of around Rs 131 crore (including railway portion).
This will facilitate the smooth movement of traffic from Hero bakery chowk towards Pakhowal road canal bridge. Ludhiana Central MLA Ashok Prashar Pappi also accompanied MLA Gogi during the inauguration ceremony.
MLA Gogi stated that one RUB connecting Pakhowal road canal bridge with Sarabha Nagar has already been opened for movement of traffic in the past and the second RUB has been opened on Monday. This will help in streamlining the movement of traffic in the area.
MLA Gogi and MC commissioner cum Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ludhiana Smart City Limited (LSCL) Dr Shena Aggarwal further stated that now the residents will not have to take a detour through Sarabha Nagar or Model Town extension for reaching Pakhowal road canal bridge from Hero Bakery chowk. With the opening of the RUB, the distance would now be covered within a minute.
MLA Gogi stated that the Pakhowal road ROB/RUBs project had taken up pace after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government came to power in the state. The ROB will also be opened for movement of traffic in the coming few months.
He further stated that the AAP led state government is committed for the overall development of the state.
AAP leaders including Tanvir Singh Dhaliwal, Satwinder Jawaddi, Amrit Varsha Rampal among others were also present on the occasion.
