Ludhiana, February 1, 2024: Fulfilling the long demand of the industry and residents of Ludhiana East constituency, Ludhiana East MLA Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal, Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Sandeep Rishi and Chairman of Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) Tarsem Singh Bhinder inaugurated a newly established fire station on Tajpur road on Thursday.
The fire station has been established in Tajpur road dairy complex near Shani Mandir. Total cost of the project is Rs 1.95 crore and the project has been funded by LIT. MLA Grewal also planted saplings inside the fire station on the occasion.
Two existing fire tenders alongwith the staff have been deployed at the Tajpur road fire station and LIT is working to procure two more fire tenders under the project.
Apart from contacting the fire control room 0161-101, the residents can now also contact the Tajpur road fire station directly at 90566-94940 at the time of emergency.
MLA Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal said that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led state government is working to develop quality infrastructure across the state. Developing a fire station on Tajpur road was a long pending of the residents and industrialists in the constituency as a large number of hosiery/textile units are operational on Tajpur road, Tibba road and nearby areas.
MLA Grewal said that in case any fire incident is reported on Tajpur road or nearby areas, the fire brigade had to rush the fire tenders from Sundar Nagar and other fire stations situated in different parts of the city. This results in wastage of crucial time.
Establishment of a fire station on Tajpur road will certainly reduce the response time of fire brigade in case any fire incident is reported on Tajpur road and nearby areas. Two fire tenders have been stationed at the fire station and LIT is also working to purchase two more fire tenders for this fire station, added MLA Grewal.
MLA Grewal further said that a large number of development projects are being taken up in Ludhiana East constituency including establishment of electricity grids, construction of new schools, reconstruction of roads etc.
Seven Mohalla clinics have already been opened in the constituency and a few more would be opened in the coming days. A 'School of Eminence' is also being established in the constituency. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led state government is committed for overall development and betterment of the state.
