MLA Prashar holds meeting with civic body officials to take stock of monsoon preparedness; directs officials to focus on plantation drive too 

Ludhiana, June 17, 2024: With focus on monsoon preparedness and plantation drives, Ludhiana Central MLA Ashok Prashar Pappi conducted a meeting with civic body officials at his office on Monday. 

MC Zonal Commissioner (Zone B) Neeraj Jain, Superintending Engineer (SE) Ravinder Garg among other officials from different branches of MC were present in the meeting.

Directing the officials to regularly monitor and expedite the work to clean Buddha nullah, MLA Prashar stated that officials should also focus on taking up plantation drives during the monsoon season. Saplings should be planted alongside Buddha Dariya, parks and other available vacant spaces in the constituency.

Further the legislator also directed the officials to repair manholes,covers of road gullies etc, wherever required so that public should not face any problem during the rainy season.

MLA Prashar stated that recently, he alongwith MC Commissioner Sandeep Rishi had also inspected the ongoing projects of Shivaji Nagar nullah and Dharampura nullah. The officials have been directed to expedite the works.

He stated that all efforts are being made to avoid water logging especially in the low lying areas of the city during the monsoon season. The legislator also appealed the residents to take up plantation drives in their surrounding areas during the monsoon season.

MLA Prashar also appealed the residents to stop dumping waste/garbage/plastic in open areas as these things choke the sewer system, which ultimately results in waterlogging. MLA Prashar stated that the officials have been directed to remain on their toes and he is also available 24x7 to ensure that public should not suffer at the ground level.
