MLA Prashar kick starts project to establish Vent Shafts (chimneys) on road constructed over nullah in old city
For ensuring safety of residents, Ludhiana Central MLA Ashok Prashar Pappi kick started the project to establish ventilation shafts (chimneys) on the road constructed over nullah (from Gurdwara Dukhniwaran Sahib till Shagun palace) in old city area on Saturday.

Ludhiana, April 26,2025: For ensuring safety of residents, Ludhiana Central MLA Ashok Prashar Pappi kick started the project to establish ventilation shafts (chimneys) on the road constructed over nullah (from Gurdwara Dukhniwaran Sahib till Shagun palace) in old city area on Saturday.
Under this project being taken up at a cost of around Rs 7.17 lakh, 12 vent shafts would be constructed on the road starting from Gurdwara Dukhniwaran Sahib till Shagun palace.
MLA Prashar said that establishment of vent shafts will help maintain airflow under the covered drain and prevent the buildup of poisonous gases.
MLA Prashar stated that previous governments did not pay heed to safety of residents as no vent shafts were established to prevent the buildup of gases under the road and that might have resulted in an accident.
Stating that Chief Minister (CM) Bhagwant Singh Mann led state government is working for overall development of the state, MLA Prashar said that along with development, ensuring the safety of the residents is also their responsibility. Fulfilling this responsibility they have now started the project to establish the vent shafts. The authorities have been directed to complete the project within stipulated time period.
