MLA Prashar, MC Chief move to field for ensuring required arrangements ahead of monsoon; inspect Shivaji nagar and Dharampura nullah project

Ludhiana, June 11, 2024: Committed to avoiding water logging especially in the low lying areas, Ludhiana Central MLA Ashok Prashar Pappi and Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Sandeep Rishi inspected the Shivaji Nagar and Dharampura Nullah projects on Tuesday.

Working to make required arrangements in advance, MLA Prashar and MC Commissioner Sandeep Rishi also interacted with the residents and directed the officials to take corrective steps, so that water logging is not witnessed in the surrounding areas during the rainy season. 

MLA Prashar also directed the officials to ensure that water logging is also not witnessed in the streets of Shivaji Nagar and the level of the roads should also be increased wherever required. 

The legislator stated that the project to cover Shivaji Nagar nullah is almost complete and every effort is being made to ensure that residents should not suffer due to water logging. The work to clean the Dharampura drain is also going on. In collaboration with the experts from IIT Roorkee, the officials are also working to establish a flood gate near Dhokka Mohalla, so that water logging is not witnessed in Dhokka Mohallan and adjoining areas even after the water level of buddha nullah rises. 

MLA Prashar said that the project to install the flood gate would be completed soon and no stone is being left unturned to avoid water logging in low lying areas of Ludhiana Central constituency. 

Meanwhile, MLA Prashar and MC Commissioner Sandeep Rishi said that preparations are being made in advance to avoid water logging during the rainy season. They directed the officials to regularly monitor the projects and ensure steps to avoid water logging in low lying areas.
