MLA Sanjay Talwar lays foundation stone of Baba Jaswant Singh Chowk in city today
Ludhiana, November 23, 2021: The culmination of the “Gurmat Samagam“ held in memory of Baba Jaswant Singh from 20th - 23rd November, 2021, ended today laying the foundation stone of the Baba Jaswant Singh Chowk, at Chandigarh Road, near Vardhman Mill, here.
MLA Sanjay Talwar, in the presence of Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu, laid the foundation stone of the Chowk.
While addressing the gathering Sanjay Talwar stated that the contributions made by the Baba Jaswant Singh Trust for the upliftment of the residents and people of the city of Ludhiana warrant an honorific to be erected in the memory of the saint whose work in the field of Education, Health Services and Employment generation, is exemplary and will be furthered by his descendants, namely the Chairman Dr. Bhai Anhad Raj Singh and Vice Chairman Amarjeet Singh Ji (ex-additional solicitor general of India) and Director Dr. Amanpreet Singh with mammoth contribution from the members of the trust.
The Chairman, Dr. Bhai Anhad Raj Singh ji, in his address, drew the attention of the residents towards the upcoming 500 bedded Hospital, Sri Guru Amardas Hospital, which would soon be functional to cater to the healthcare needs of the ailing, as the Baba Jaswant Singh Dental College and Hospital, has been doing since the past two decades. The Chowk to be erected in the memory of Baba Jaswant singh ji, would strive to be a reminder to the residents of Punjab, of the work undertaken by Baba ji all through his living years and would serve as an inspiration to the members of the trust to keep the inherent fire to serve humanity alive in each one.
The inauguration Ceremony was attended by larger number of people, including guests from London, USA, Germany and Delhi. Vineet Bhatia, Umesh Sharma, Kuldeep Janda, besides several others were also present on the occasion.
