MLA Sidhu, Deputy Mayor Johar launch extensive cleanliness drive to promote hygiene; appeal public to support civic body in keeping city clean
Keeping clean environment and hygiene in priority, Atam Nagar MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu and Deputy Mayor Prince Johar launched an extensive cleanliness drive in the Atam Nagar constituency starting from Daba road opposite Industrial Training Institute (ITI) on Gill road on Friday.

Ludhiana, April 25, 2025: Keeping clean environment and hygiene in priority, Atam Nagar MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu and Deputy Mayor Prince Johar launched an extensive cleanliness drive in the Atam Nagar constituency starting from Daba road opposite Industrial Training Institute (ITI) on Gill road on Friday.
Stating that the cleanliness drive would be conducted in all the wards of the constituency, MLA Sidhu stated that the drive has been specially planned to ensure that the public should not face any trouble due to unhygienic conditions during the summer season.
Wielding brooms in their hands, MLA Sidhu, Deputy Mayor Johar remained in the field for over two hours. They were accompanied by councillors Jagmeet Noni, Mamta Rani among other civic body officials. MLA Sidhu and Deputy Mayor Prince Johar said that to keep the residents safe from vector borne diseases, fogging would also be conducted in all the areas on a regular basis.
Different teams of health branch, B&R branch, O&M cell, horticulture etc have been deployed and apart from taking up cleanliness drives, the officials have also been directed to clean the sewer lines, replace manhole covers/road gullies etc, wherever required.
MLA Sidhu and Deputy Mayor Johar said that the state government led by Chief Minister (CM) Bhagwant Singh Mann is committed for overall development of the state. They are leaving no stone unturned to ensure cleanliness across the city, but the residents should also support the authorities and stop dumping waste at open spaces/plots etc.
