Mock exercise on Chemical Disaster to take place in Verka milk plant on March 6; table top exercise held
A state-level mock exercise on Chemical Disaster would be held at Verka Milk plant on Ferozepur road on March 6. A meeting (table top exercise) regarding the same was organised at MC Zone A office near Mata Rani chowk on Tuesday.

Ludhiana, March 4, 2025: A state-level mock exercise on Chemical Disaster would be held at Verka Milk plant on Ferozepur road on March 6. A meeting (table top exercise) regarding the same was organised at MC Zone A office near Mata Rani chowk on Tuesday.
The mock exercise would be organised by State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) in coordination with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and different departments would be participating in the same including the team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDFR), district administration, Municipal Corporation, police, fire brigade, health department etc.
The table top exercise, on Tuesday, was conducted by the officials of the state department who joined the meeting through video conferencing and presentations were also shared by senior officials regarding different fatal incidents held in the past wherein chemical leakages or explosions were held and how the incidents were managed.
ADC Khanna Shikha Bhagat, MC Additional Commissioner Paramdeep Singh, SDM Khanna Dr Baljinder Singh Dhillon, Assistant Commissioner Neeraj Jain, Assistant Commissioner Gurpal Singh, ADFO Maninder Singh among other senior officials from NDRF, SDRF, Punjab Home Guards, police, health department, district industries department, labour department etc participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, the officials were also apprised of the steps which can be taken to minimise or avoid the risk, if any untoward incident is reported in the district.
