Mohammad Gulab meets CM
Demands land for Eidgah in Ludhiana
Ludhiana: Punjab Backward Classes Land Development and Finance Corporation (Backfinco) vice-chairman Mohammad Gulab on Friday met the Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and demanded land for an Eidgah in Ludhiana so that people from Muslim Community can offer prayers together.
In a memorandum to the Punjab Chief Minister, Gulab said that the Ludhiana has around 70 to 80 mosques in the district but it has not a single Eidgah where all from the community can offer namaz on the occasion of Eid due to which the Muslim community faces various problems.
He said being an industrial hub of the state, it has a sizeable Muslim population and requested Chief Minister for giving suitable land for an Eidgah on the pattern of lands given for the Eidgah in Jalandhar and Malerkotla districts.
"CM has assured the land would be identified soon for an Eidgah in Ludhiana", Gulab added.
