Mohandai Oswal Hospital celebrates World Health Day
World Health Day is a global health awareness day, celebrated every year on 7th April.
Ludhiana, April 7, 2022: Mohandai Oswal Hospital, Ludhiana celebrated “World Health Day” with focus on the current year’s theme “Our Planet, Our Health” which aims to direct global attention toward the well-being of our planet and the humans living in it. World Health Day is a global health awareness day, celebrated every year on 7th April.
On this occasion various activities were organized by Mohandai Oswal Hospital to highlight the significance of the issue of good health. An interactive session was conducted by the Department of Gynecology along with complementary health checkup camp lead by Orthopedician, Diabetologist, Physiotherapist , Dietician and Eye specialist.
Dr Arti Gupta Tuli (Gynecologist) delivered a presentation on female health issues. She explained disease such as breast cancer, cervical cancer is common in female and timely detection and treatment plays curtail role.
Dr Parveen Gupta (Orthopedician) said building healthy bones is extremely vital and by engaging in specific types of exercise one can build and maintain strong bones.
Dr Geeti Puri Arora (Diabetologist) said one in the six people in India is diabetic. Obesity, sedentary lifestyle, stress are the most common causes. By adopting healthier lifestyle one can reduce the risk of diabetes and other non communicable disease.
Dr Neeraj Arora (Eye Specialist) informed cataract, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and age related macular degeneration are leading cause of blindness worldwide. All the above can be prevented and treated so, regular eye checkup is very important.
Physiotherapist Dr Surjit Dogra and Sr. Dietician Ms Nisha Sharma explained audience that eating a healthy diet and regular excercise can help to improve mental health, boost energy levels, and increase resistance to illness.
