Ludhiana, March 6, 2018: Ludhiana Smart City Limited Director and IIA Punjab Chapter Chairman Ar.Sanjay Goel, has demanded more flights for Delhi from Sahnewal airport in Ludhiana.

In a statement here, he added that on Monday again he had to travel by air from Delhi to Ludhiana. He said flight was packed, adding travellers from other countries, states, NRIs were demanding more time options/flights between Delhi and Ludhiana.
Goel said, “We can’t travel to rest of the country and world from Delhi until Sahnewal Airport is not expanded and connected to rest of the country.”

Further, he said Ludhiana needed three up-down flights at 7am, 1pm and 6pm. He added if this demand was fulfilled then there would be no need to go to Chandigarh Airport.

He asserted that Ludhiana being an upcoming smart city really needed good air connectivity.

Goel suggested to the government to start small aircraft service from Sahnewal to Delhi after passage of every 2 hours. He predicted that small aircrafts would run packed if started.

Further, while sharing his yesterday’s experience of journey, he told that few foreign passengers, who landed at Ludhiana, wanted a smart airport at Ludhiana. He said presently, luggage transport was manual, which was odd and tough for staff.
