More than 3000 degrees conferred on 1st day of 15th Annual Convocation Ceremony at CGC Landran

Chandigarh, December 23, 2021: A grand celebration marked the beginning of the 2-day 15th Annual Convocation at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran. Day 1 hosted the combined ceremony for engineering graduates of 2020 & 2021.
Mr. Sunil Goyal, Dy. Chief Executive Officer, Sopra Steria India & Chief Executive Officer, Sopra Banking Software India graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Chairman Satnam Singh Sandhu, President Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, and other dignitaries were extremely delighted to welcome everyone to the glorious ceremony.
During the conferral of the degree, the PTU toppers were presented with gold, silver, and bronze medals respectively. A total of 24 Gold medals, 13 silver medals and 14 Bronze medals were presented to the Engineering toppers of 2020, 2021, and 338 merit positions.
Congratulating the students, Mr. Sunil Goyal said, “We need a large number of passionate entrepreneurs in our nation and the way CGC is nurturing innovation and research among the students through its Atal Community Innovation Centre RISE Association, it is incredible. CGCians are involved in a whole lot of activities that foster their creativity and instil a spirit of entrepreneurship. As we see that among the Top 10 IT companies globally, 7 of the CEOs are from India. The youngsters today are thoroughly confident and it’s time that we witness the origin of global companies from our nation itself. With the right education and opportunities that are being provided by institutes like CGC, this dream will be accomplished very soon.”
Day 2 will witness the graduation ceremony of non-engineering students and Mr. Prem Singh, President, Group CHRO – JK Organization and President, National HRD Network will be present as the Chief Guest. A total of 6000 degrees will be conferred to students of graduate and post-graduate degrees (2020 & 2021) during the 2-day event.
