More than 3000 participated in JITO Ahimsa Run

Hyderabad, April 2, 2023: More than 3000 runners participated in the Hyderabad city run in IIFL JITO Ahimsa Run which was flagged off by Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary and Sanjay Jain, DGP on Sunday morning at Jalavihar in Necklace Road.
 

It was organized by the Ladies Wing of Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO), Hyderabad. The run was organized to promote world peace and non-violence.

 
Over one lakh participated across 85 locations all over the world (including 65 in India and 20 out of India) in the run organized for World Peace and Non-Violence.
 

The Run received Guinness World Records Certificate for the most pledges received for a Peace Campaign in one week (16th to 23rd March, 2023,70,728 registered for it online during that one week alone).  This run is expected to mark its entry into Word Records India, and the Limca Book of Records.
 

The run was held in 3 different categories—3K, 5K and 10K. People of all ages participated. Many elderly citizens, women in saree are seen participating beside youth.
 

The Male top 3 in the 15 to 35 years age category was Ramavath Ramesh Chandra, Vangala Dhanush; 36 to 55 years Thomas Adams, Ashish Dhingra, Rohit Mehta; 56 and above Naresh Satyanarayana; Rajendra Prasad ad Rose Babu Nekuri. 
 

Female top 3 winners in the 15 to 35 years age category are Badde Navya, Payal Jain, and Aanya Sukhavasi; 36 to 55 years age suparna Das, Chaitra Nataraj, and Kamala Kunala.  And the lone winner in the 56 and above age category Is Krishna Kumari Shridhar.  All the winners were given away cash prizes.
 

The total prize money for a 10K timed Run was Rs 90000 (Ninety Thousand). The Run started and ended at the JalaVihar Parking zone. The route for the run was from Jala Vihar towards Sanjeevaiah park and back.
   

According to Sushil Sancheti, Chairman of JITO, the run was aimed at creating awareness for a better world to stop wars, and hatred and bring peace and nonviolence in our surroundings.
 

Addressing the gathering Sushil Sancheti said the world is today confronted with terror, and conflict resulting in destruction and loss of livelihoods.  Conflict and violence are not a solution.  Peace and ahimsa as the father of our nation Mahatma Gandhi preached to us is the only solution.
 

This was the first time in global history that thousands of runners joined for a cause across several locations simultaneously on a single day.
 

JITO is a worldwide organization of businessmen, industrialists, knowledge workers, and professionals reflecting the glory of ethical business practices. JITO Ladies wing has been created to empower Jain Women. And provide a platform where all JAIN women regardless of their firkas and faith can converge to create a powerful movement for the benefit of all.


The run has been endorsed by many public personalities across India and aims to initiate the younger generation towards peace and nonviolence at an early age to create a future generation where war and violence will become a thing of the past.
