More than 70 residents attended Workshop on Drug-De-addiction held in Boys Hostel No- 4, Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Chandigarh December 20, 2024: A special workshop on the topic of drug de-addiction was organised under the joint aegis of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Boys Hostel No. 4 and Swami Vivekananda Boys Hostel No. 7 of Panjab University, Chandigarh.
The keynote speaker for the event was Dr. Abhimanyu Rampal, Director of Mehr Foundation, Panchkula. The chief guest Prof. Naresh Kumar, Associate Dean Student Welfare presided the session. The program commenced with the wardens of Hostel No. 4 and 7 welcoming the chief guest and the keynote speaker by presenting them with saplings.
In his address, the keynote speaker provided students with insights into the physical, mental, and social consequences of drug addiction. He motivated the youth to adopt positive habits and focus on their goals to stay away from drug and substance abuse. He emphasised the need to build a drug-free society to lay the foundation for a better community and thus a responsible and developed nation.
Students actively participated in the workshop and inquired their queries about drug addiction with the keynote speaker. Addressing their questions, the speaker shared effective measures for de-addiction and stressed the importance of spreading awareness.
Towards the conclusion of the program, Dr. Naveen Kumar, Warden of Hostel No. 4, expressed gratitude to the chief guest and the speaker, presenting them with mementos. He also appreciated the efforts of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and the VADA Committee of the hostel No. 4 for organizing a workshop on such an important topic. A special mention of PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig for the able guidance was done. He urged students to stay away from drugs and fulfill their social responsibilities.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Ravinder Kumar, Warden of Boys Hostel No. 7, Dr. Jodh Singh, Warden of Boys Hostel No. 6, Sartaj Singh, Convener of Hostel No. 4 Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and Vada Committee, member Ravi Kumar and, staff and residents from Hostel No. 4 and 7.
