“Mother’s Day” celebrated at DRV DAV Centenary Public School

Phillaur: Of all the bonds we share during our lifetime, the most special one is the one that we have with our mothers! A mother selflessly fulfils all our desires and cares for us till her last breath. “Mother’s Day”, a day especially dedicated to cherish motherhood was celebrated with great elation at DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur on May 12. A series of activities was organized to honour the most sacrificing and loving souls. The main idea was to highlight the importance of mother in the life of a child and to make our mothers feel special.

To make the celebration more special, mothers of students of Classes Pre-Nursery and Nursery and also all the mothers of the participants were invited to the school to be a part of the colourful celebration. The programme started with the mesmerising fairy dance of little tiny tots. Then the students of class UKG dedicated their powerpacked performance to the lovely mothers who graced the occasion with their vibrant presence. On the theme of ‘Mother’s Love and sacrifice’, special songs, dances, drama and poetic recitation were presented. The heartfelt and stellar performance of the students was a moment of reckoning for the mothers to introspect on the immense influence and pivotal role one has to play in a child’s life. The audiences were enthralled by the innocence, intellect and creativity of the students. All the presentations were dedicated to mothers. Children thanked their mothers for always being there for them. They owe their life to her who dedicates and sacrifices her life for them. They praised their mothers for their selflessness and contribution towards their upbringing. The performance of the students was exotic, joyful and enthusiastic rendering everyone spellbound with the high level of true emotions giving tears in each eye. 

The happy and excited mothers took part in the various fun games and even they rocked the stage with graceful and elegant Ramp Walk. Winner mothers of various competitions were awarded by Principal Dr. Yogesh Gambhir. He congratulated all the winner mothers. He addressed the mothers by saying that ‘A mother’s heart is brave and she sacrifices her own pleasures for the welfare of the family. He further thanked all the mothers for their pivotal role in shaping the personalities and strengthening the family bonding. He appreciated the initiatives and dedication of the mothers. Then a cake-cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the special occasion. All the mothers were presented with a token of remembrance and gratitude by Principal Dr. Yogesh Gambhir. The fruitful and honest efforts of the children rejoiced everyone and strengthened the mother-child relationship. The programme culminated with high tea. It was indeed a great experience and a perfect blend of emotions and feelings.
