MoU inked between All India Institute of Ayurveda and Amity University 

Amity University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with All India Institute of Ayurveda, New Delhi to promote and undertake research and development initiatives in the field of Ayurveda and Indian System of Medicine (ISM). Previously Amity had signed an MoU with National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur. This integration of traditional and modern knowledge will provide new dimension of research and development in healthcare sector and integrate traditional medicine into national health care system which would facilitate more efficient use of indigenous medical resources. 

Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Education Group shared that this MoU is one of the most important collaborations for Amity and will be a Motivational Outcome Oriented Union that will create wonders in the field of Ayurveda in the coming times. He stressed on changing the world through Ayurveda owing to its numerous benefits not only in US but around the Globe.  

Dr. Aseem Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University added that the MoU will look to achieve the unattainable and benefit the nation. He called for the infusion of Ayurveda with modern medication to acquire a new form of medicine for treatment & cure of diseases. He stated that Ayurveda & Yoga make the country stand apart and mark its special position in the world.  
Dr. Tanuja Nesari, Director, All India Institute of Ayurveda, New Delhi said that it was a special and proud moment to sign this MoU, taking the institutes tally to 20 National and International MoUs. She averred that this collaboration would lead to outcomes that will benefit the needy in the society and provide research partnerships between AIIA and Amity University. She also informed how healthcare workers in the field are taking ayurvedic medicines and maintaining their health while dealing with Covid patients.  

Dr. Manoj Nesari, Advisor, Ministry of AYUSH shared that the MoU will create lot of opportunities and avenues to collaborate for academic & research activities between the Ministry & Amity University. He added that training in various technological developments can be imparted to students along with short sensitization programmes in Ayurveda. He also shared various research initiatives being undertaken by the Ministry across the globe and they were getting requests to start Ayurveda Institutes in other countries as well.  

Ministry of AYUSH has played a pivotal role in introducing and promoting Indian System of Medicine globally. Recently Hon’ble Minister Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of AYUSH with Padma Shri Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH in the august presence of Dr Ashok K Chauhan inaugurated the Amity Ayurveda Research Center at Amity Campus, Long island, New York, USA .

Dr. W Selvamurthy, President, ASTIF and Chancellor, Amity University, Chhattisgarh welcomed all the dignitaries. He shared the various endeavors of Amity University led by Dr. Ashok. Chauhan in promoting Indian system of Medicine and putting the ayurvedic system on the scientific pedestal. He averred that health plays an integral role in new India and how All India Institute of Ayurveda is driving this mission forward.   

Amity researchers are also working on finding solutions to diseases using herbal formulations such as Evaluation of secondary metabolites of Morinda coreia against  Leishmaniases, Antimicrobial activity of Parmelia perlata against metronidazole resistant H. pylori, Extract of Myristica fragrans (Mace) & Myristica fragrans HOUTT (Nutmeg) for the treatment of Aspergillus fumigatus, Evaluation of Efficacy of Different Formulations of Different Combinations of Medicinal Plant Extracts for the Treatment of Dementia. 

Nutraceuticals & Herbal health care products are also been developed from the portals of Amity for controlling blood sugar level and associated disorders, dietary supplement for cancer chemoprevention , balanced nutritional composition & memory enhancer for kids, Adjuvant dietary supplement for Osteoporosis and associated disorders, dietary supplement to boost immunity.
