MOU to create interface between academia and HPTDC
Panjab University and Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to create an interface between academia and HPTDC and to promote tourism by organising Himachal Food/Music Fest in the premises of HPTDC.

Chandigarh, February 28, 2025: Panjab University and Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to create an interface between academia and HPTDC and to promote tourism by organising Himachal Food/Music Fest in the premises of HPTDC.
Prof. Y.P. Verma, Registrar, Panjab University, Chandigarh, and Dr. Jaswinder Kumar, Director, University Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management, Panjab University, Chandigarh, signed the MOU on behalf of Panjab University while Mr. Sandeep Kumar Thakur, AGM, Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC), Chandigarh, signed the MOU on behalf of HPTDC.
The main key points of the MOU are as follows:
(i) Panjab University, on request and mutually convenient schedule, can organize Himachal Food/Music Fest in the premises of HPTDC for the promotion of tourism.
(ii) HPTDC will provide its facilities and services to the students, employees, officers, parents of the students, and guests of Panjab University on the production of a valid ID Card by the beneficiary at the hotel.
(iii) HPTDC will allow special prices and discounts to the students, employees, officers, parents of the students, and guests of Panjab University as per the existing rates of accommodation on the HPTDC online portal and F&B menu rates of concerned units.
(iv) HPTDC will also give discounts, i.e., 20% on accommodation and 15% on food, to the students, employees, officers, parents of the students, and guests of Panjab University on the production of an I-Card or an authorization letter of Panjab University at billing counters.
