MP Anand Sharma released money to restore Nehru’s statue

Dharamsala, February 12, 2022: Ex-Chief Minister HP Shanta Kumar thanked Congress leader and ex-Union Minister Anand Sharma for sanctioning Rs.10 lakh from Sansad Nidhi Yojna for the restoration of the statue of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in Palampur.
In a press release today issued from Dubai, former Chief Minister Shanta Kumar has said that this amount of 10 lakhs has been earmarked for the restoration and decoration of the statue of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in Palampur in Himachal.
He has thanked the MP for this work and said that a few months back, he himself had given one lakh rupees to the Himachal government for the same purpose after seeing the bad condition of the statue. He said that he did not know how much was spent even after that and how much progress was made in this direction.
He has urged the government to make immediate arrangements to re-decorate this statue of the first Prime Minister of India. Shanta Kumar has said that statues of other martyrs are also installed in Palampur. He has urged the government to make arrangements to complete the restoration work of all the martyrs' statues installed in Palampur on priority.
