MP Arora Assures Industry of Continued Support to Key Industry Challenges in Punjab

Addressing 56th AGM of United Cycles Parts and Manufacturers Association (UCPMA) here on Wednesday, MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora has made an appeal to the industrialists to have a positive attitude towards the State Government, which has done a lot for the industry since it came to the power.

Ludhiana, September 25, 2024: Addressing 56th AGM of United Cycles Parts and Manufacturers Association (UCPMA) here on Wednesday, MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora has made an appeal to the industrialists to have a positive attitude towards the State Government, which has done a lot for the industry since it came to the power.

Arora who was the Chief Guest at the event, added that the industrialists must highlight their grievance and problems but at the same time it should also appreciate the works done for the betterment of the industry by the ruling State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in Punjab.

Adding, Arora said many works have either been completed or in progress. Still, he is taking up many issues at the Center and State Government levels. Starting with Halwara Airport which is complete and waiting for final approvals for starting commercial flights, he briefed about completion of the projects including elevated road, relaying of roads in focal points, relaying of roads and drains on the service lane  from Dhandari Kalan railway station to SPS Hospital and setting up of ICU in ESI Hospital. Besides, he is working hard for early completion of the works including upgradation of Ludhiana and Dhandari railway stations, 21-Km-long bicycle track, four bridges on Sidhwan Canal, upgradation of ESI Hospital, renovation of Civil Hospital Ludhiana, Besides, has resolved many issues of the industry. He has also taken up the issue of reducing GST on bicycles. Proposal for parking slots along the elevated road is also under active consideration of NHAI.

Speaking about the issue of delayed payments of MSME units, Arora said he would take up this matter with the Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana to hold a meeting of the concerned officials as soon as possible. Referring to the issues taken up by the industry regarding PSIEC and Phase VIII, he said he would make all out efforts to get these issues settled in the future. He said the PSPCL has already introduced OTS Scheme for the industry and others after he took up this matter with Punjab CM & PSERC Chairman last month.

Regarding a demand of constructing of an elevated road from Sahnewal to Sherpur, Arora said construction of elevated road is not viable, however, an underpasses proposal would be taken up with NHAI.

He assured that the industry’s issue related to registration charges on bank loans would be taken at an appropriate authority. He urged upon the industry not to demand for withdrawal of Cancer cess introduced by the state government as this cess has been levied for welfare of the suffering humanity.

Arora categorically stated that he is always ready to render services to the industry. He asked the industry to provide him in writing their pending issues and grievances.

On the occasion, Arora was presented a memento by the UCPMA office-bearers.

Among others, the UCPMA president Harsimerjit Singh Lucky and other leading industrialists including Onkar Singh Pahwa (CMD, Avon Cycles), Gurmeet Singh Kular, Charanjeet Singh Vishwakarma, Sanjeev Pahwa, KK Seth, SS Bhogal, Rajeev Jain, Satnam Singh Makkar were present.
