MP Arora conferred with “Gorakshak Award”
Shri Govind Godham Trust and Vrindavan & Bhagwan Jagannath Rath Yatra Mahotsav Committee has jointly conferred “Gorakshak Award” to AAP MP (Rajya Sabha) Sanjeev Arora for doing commendable work in rendering selfless services to the suffering humanity, cancer patients and cows’ welfare at a “Get-Together Party” held here late last evening.
Ludhiana, May 4, 2023: Shri Govind Godham Trust and Vrindavan & Bhagwan Jagannath Rath Yatra Mahotsav Committee has jointly conferred “Gorakshak Award” to AAP MP (Rajya Sabha) Sanjeev Arora for doing commendable work in rendering selfless services to the suffering humanity, cancer patients and cows’ welfare at a “Get-Together Party” held here late last evening.
Speaking on the occasion, Arora announced a grant of Rs.10 lakh for Shri Govind Godham Trust and highly appreciated organisers of the Trust for taking care and welfare of cows over the decades by successfully running a `gaushala’ in the city. He spoke about importance and need of `gaushala’.
Arora said Punjabis always took a lead in every sphere. Citing an example, said even the first `gaushala’ was set up by Punjabis way back in the year 1882 after which `gaushala’ were set up almost on similar lines in West Bengal, Maharashtra, Chennai, Rajasthan and other states of the country. He spoke about a `gaushala’ being run in Pathmeda village of Rajasthan, stating that this `gaushala’ is the largest across the world having 85,000 cows. He said there are around 1,800 crows at `gaushala being run by Shri Govind Godham Trust, which is not a small task. It is a great job to take care and welfare of cows, he remarked.
He also appreciated the organisers of Vrindavan & Bhagwan Jagannath Rath Yatra Mahotsav Committee for taking out Bhagwan Jagannath Rath Yatra across the city every year. He said such events help in bringing people close to spirituality, adding that he is glad to note that Bhagwan Jagannath Rath Yatra has been taking out for the last 26 years. He said such events have a great importance particularly in the present era when people are becoming more materialistic.
Arora stated that he is not a politician as there is a misconception in minds of most of people. He categorically stated that he has got a chance to work for the society. “As such, I have been working beyond political lines for people of city, state and nation”, he said, adding that he has been approaching everyone concerned for welfare, betterment and development of his city and state. He highlighted his efforts for pushing up projects such as Halwara Airport, Ludhiana city railway station, elevated road project, Focal Point roads and many industry-related issues. He reassured that Halwara Airport and elevated road project will be fully completed and functional within next few months. He said still, he is working on many issues, including water charges on industry. He tries to regularly and sincerely follows-up every issue.
He was honoured by presenting him a `doshala’ by Sukhdarshan Jain Bhola, MD, Hotel Maharaja Regency and others.
Advocate Sanjeev Sood Banka, Satish Dhanda, Rajesh Jain Bobby, Varinder Sharma Bobby, Satish Gupta, Somnath Jindal, Madan Goyal, Darshan Lal Laddu, TS Thapar, Ashok Dheer, Rajinder Chhabra and Vivek Sharma Tikku were among those who spoke on the occasion. Ashwani Joshi, a senior journalist, was also honoured on the occasion.
