Ludhiana, August 7, 2024: MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora met the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH Jadhav Prataprao Ganpatrao on Tuesday and demanded establishment of All India Institute of Ayurveda in Ludhiana.
During this meeting, he urged upon the Minister to consider establishing an All-India Institute of Ayurveda (AlIA) in Ludhiana.
Arora apprised the Minister that Punjab has a rich cultural heritage and a deep-rooted tradition of Ayurveda. The state has witnessed significant growth in the healthcare sector, with Ludhiana emerging as a prominent medical hub. The presence of renowned institutions like Dayanand Medical College & Hospital (DMCH) and Christian Medical College (CMC) being among the oldest in the country, underscores the city's potential to become a center of excellence in the field of Ayurveda.
Arora assured the Minister of providing all necessary permissions and a suitable land parcel from the State government for the establishment of the AllA in Ludhiana.
He suggested that the proposed AllA in Ludhiana should be modelled on the lines of the existing institutes in Delhi and Goa, encompassing a comprehensive structure that includes a hospital, academic programmes, research facilities, publications and environmental enrichment activities.
Arora hoped that the establishment of an AllA in Ludhiana will not only benefit the people of Punjab but also contribute significantly to the growth and development of Ayurveda in India.
Meanwhile, Arora on Wednesday said the Minister gave a patient hearing to him and assured to look into the demand. He said the Minister also asked him to push for private colleges cum hospitals under Ayurveda promising full support from Central Government.
