MP Arora inaugurates Rs.1.61 Crore state-of-the-art Table Tennis Complex at Rakh Bagh

Ludhiana, April 9, 2025: Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora inaugurated Table Tennis Complex at Rakh Bagh Sports Complex here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana (MCL) has developed a state-of-the-art table tennis complex, with a project cost of Rs.1.61 Crore, adding that the funding for this development has been provided by Ludhiana Smart City Limited (LSCL).

Highlighting key features of the complex, Arora said there is 3,800 square feet area with 6 tables for playing at ground floor and 7,000 square feet area with 12 tables for playing at first floor. He added that both halls are fully air-conditioned to ensure a comfortable playing environment. The visitor's gallery has a seating capacity for 150 persons, allowing spectators to enjoy the matches.

Adding, he said, “This initiative is part of enhancing sports infrastructure in the city, promoting table tennis, and offering a world-class facility for players and spectators alike.”
He said the objective is to provide world-class infrastructure for table tennis enthusiasts and promote sports development in Ludhiana. He hoped that local players, aspiring athletes, and sports enthusiasts will be the beneficiaries.

He pointed out that the development of this sports facility is a major step in enhancing sports facilities under the Smart City initiative.

Arora inspired the youth to get themselves involved in sports activities to channelize their energy. He hoped that the drug menace can be automatically eradicated if the youth started taking part in sports activities.  

He congratulated Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur and MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal and all the MC Staff for completing Table Tennis Complex project within the given deadline. He hoped that the newly created sports infrastructure will be helpful in upbringing of new national and international table tennis players. He asked the players to take full utilization of this facility.  

Arora also distributed Awards of Excellence among the players. He was also given a memento by the organsiers.  

He said the state government under the leadership of Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann is committed to create best sports infrastructure in the state.

Among others, Ludhiana District Table Tennis Association president H S Chattwal and Vice president Aswani K Goyal were also present on the occasion.
