MP Arora lauds Distt Administration for its efforts to minimise inconvenience to citizens
Reacting to alarming situation due to incessant rains in the past two days in the entire state, AAP MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora has asked people of Ludhiana not to get panicky as the District Administration under the command of DC Surabhi Malik and Municipal Commissioner Dr Shena Aggarwal are taking all adequate measures to meet the challenge. All the concerned officers are working 24x7 to deal with the situation. Teams have been sent to all affected areas of District.
Ludhiana, July 9, 2023: Reacting to alarming situation due to incessant rains in the past two days in the entire state, AAP MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora has asked people of Ludhiana not to get panicky as the District Administration under the command of DC Surabhi Malik and Municipal Commissioner Dr Shena Aggarwal are taking all adequate measures to meet the challenge. All the concerned officers are working 24x7 to deal with the situation. Teams have been sent to all affected areas of District.
Arora also lauded District Administration Ludhiana for taking a prompt action in rescuing 22 people, including 5 female and 4 children from village Sensowal Khurd near Machhiwara in district Ludhiana. He said these people had gone to sow paddy in fields on the other side of river in SBS Nagar and got stuck when the water level rose. He said a special boat was sent and these 22 persons were brought back to village Dhulewal.
Arora also praised Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for setting up of flood control rooms in all districts and regularly monitoring the situation.
He said there has been occurring unexpected rainfall during this monsoon season, resulting to which the situation is getting alarming. He said such challenges are faced with strong will power. He lauded the local administrative officers for their strong will power to meet this challenge due to heavy rains in the coming days.
Adding, Arora said this serious situation has arisen not only in Ludhiana and other parts of the district but in many other parts across the country. “But, people don’t have to worry as District Administration Ludhiana officials are keeping a close watch on Sutlej river”, he said, adding people must follow a general advisory issued by DC Ludhiana Surabhi Malik which mentions that people should be careful, avoid congested/waterlogged areas unless necessary and no need for panic. The advisory further states that all the preparations are purely anticipational in nature, said Arora.
Arora advised people to remain vigilant of the present situation.
