Ludhiana, April 14, 2025: Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora was the chief guest at a function organised by the Bhartiya Valmiki Dharma Samaj (BHAVADHAS) on Monday to commemorate the 134th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
The event was spearheaded by BHAVADHAS Rashtriya Mukhya Sanchalak Vijay Danav and Rashtriya Sanchalak Chaudhary Yashpal.
Remembering Dr. Ambedkar, MP Arora highlighted his role as the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. He noted that Dr. Ambedkar ensured equality for all Indians—regardless of religion, caste, or creed—and championed equal rights for women. "Dr. Ambedkar was the leader who showed the path of equality," Arora said.
Arora also elaborated on the importance of the Constitution of India, copies of which were distributed as a symbolic gift to nearly all dignitaries on stage. These calligraphic editions, he said, should be revered as sacred texts and placed in prominent institutions such as government offices, schools, and colleges. “This book enlightens us about the values and vision of our Constitution,” he remarked.
Notable recipients of the Constitution copies included DIG Nilambari Jagdale (Ludhiana Range), Municipal Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal, Ludhiana Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur, MLAs Rajinder Pal Kaur Chhina and Daljit Singh Grewal Bhola, and Deputy Mayor Prince Johar. Arora emphasised that gifting the copies of Constitution of India is among the most meaningful gifts one can offer.
During his address, Arora also raised the slogans "Jai Bhim, Jai Bharat", energising the large gathering.
In his speech, Vijay Danav described April 14 as a sacred day—the birth anniversary of a reformer who brought transformational change to India. He credited Dr. Ambedkar for pioneering reforms in education, particularly for women. Danav urged the audience to give back to society, especially if they hold positions of influence.
Both Danav and Chaudhary Yashpal expressed their gratitude to MP Arora for attending the function and acknowledged his contributions as an MP over the past three years. They also informed the audience that Arora has now been fielded by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as its candidate for the Ludhiana (West) assembly seat.
