MP Arora renominated for third time as Member to Standing Committee on Health
MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora has been renominated as a Member to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare for another year.
Ludhiana, September 27, 2024: MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora has been renominated as a Member to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare for another year.
This will be the Arora’s third consecutive term to this standing committee, which has been announced for the year 2024-25.
In a statement here on Friday, Arora thanked the Vice-President and Chairman Rajya Sabha, Jagdeep Dhankhar for extending his tenure as a Member to the Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare. At the same time, he also thanked his party’s leadership for recommending his name for this post.
Arora has been preferring to Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare since he became an MP because Health sector is very close to his heart because of several reasons. “In-fact, I always want to serve the suffering humanity and this is the reason that I always prefer to become a Member of Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare”, he said.
He said his renomination has given him a further boost to work with more devotion, dedication and energy for health and healthcare sector in the future also.
During the last two years, Arora has shown his commitment for working for welfare and betterment of the society. He has participated in the discussions held on implementation of Ayushman Bharat, Mental health care and its management in contemporary times, implementation of Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, functioning of Central Government Health Service (CGHS), quality of medical education in India, and affordable health care for all. He always said that health care has become very costly these days, resulting to which it is very difficult for a common man to bear the cost. Therefore, it is the responsibility of all stakeholders related to health to make healthcare affordable for all.
Arora who is also the vice president of DMCH Managing Society, Ludhiana, has always been taking initiative to work for the suffering humanity and needy people.
Due to his initiative, about one and a half years old Kanav Jangra, a resident of New Delhi was able to get treatment worth Rs.17.50 crore (2.1 million USD). The huge amount for Kanav’s treatment was got collected only after a massive campaign for donation launched by city-based NGO Krishna Pran Breast Cancer Charitable Trust and Samvedna Trust on Arora’s initiative.
City-based NGO Krishna Pran Breast Cancer Charitable Trust is being run by Arora over the years. This NGO in the month of October every year organises various activities for creating awareness against breast cancer. This NGO has provided free of cost treatment to more than 250 cancer patients so far.
Krishna Pran Breast Cancer Charitable Trust is also providing matching grant of Rs.1.5 lakh for the treatment of a Cancer patient worth Rs.3 lakh under Mukh Mantri Cancer Rahat Kosh. Trust has announced to give matching grant for free treatment to 100 Cancer patients every year. Trust has adopted around 300 needy Patients for free treatment suffering from Cancer. Also, with Arora’s efforts around 60 patients have got Rs 3 lakh each under PMNRF Scheme for treatment.
