MP Arora requests Ashwini Vaishnaw for additional Train between Delhi-Ludhiana
MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora met the Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday and congratulated him for once again assuming the charge of Ministry of Railways. During this meeting, he demanded to start new Shatabdi or Vande Bharat Express service from Delhi to Ludhiana and short stopover at Sabzi Mandi station for Amritsar Shatabdi Express trains 12013 and 12014.

Ludhiana, June 28, 2024: MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora met the Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday and congratulated him for once again assuming the charge of Ministry of Railways. During this meeting, he demanded to start new Shatabdi or Vande Bharat Express service from Delhi to Ludhiana and short stopover at Sabzi Mandi station for Amritsar Shatabdi Express trains 12013 and 12014.
Arora apprised the Minister that he is approaching him on behalf of the business community of Ludhiana, who are in dire need of enhanced rail connectivity to support their commercial activities. The introduction of a new Shatabdi or Vande Bharat Express service from Delhi to Ludhiana, scheduled in the evening between 7-8 PM, with a return from Ludhiana-Delhi next day in the morning, would benefit the numerous traders and businessmen who frequently travel this route. Such a service would not only cater to the convenience of the business community but also bolster economic interactions between these two industrious cities.
Arora took up this matter with the Minister after Industry had demanded this in a recent interaction he had with them.
Further, Arora proposed a short stopover at Sabzi Mandi station for the current Amritsar Shatabdi Express trains 12013 and 12014. He pointed out that Sabzi Mandi station is near pivotal commercial hubs, and a stop here would be immensely advantageous for the trading fraternity traveling from Ludhiana. This addition would save valuable time and resources, thereby contributing to the overall productivity of their businesses.
Arora has also sent a similar request to Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu.
Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw assured about the train and regarding stopover he said it will have to be studied technically if possible, keeping in view existing traffic at that time.
Arora hoped that the Minister will consider his request with the gravity it deserves, recognizing the significant impact it could have on the commerce and connectivity of the region.
