MP Arora takes stock of Development projects in Ludhiana with District Administration
With a view to review the ongoing construction work of the prestigious Halwara airport project at Halwara, near here, MP (Rajya Sabha) Sanjeev Arora visited site along with ACA Glada, ADC Ludhiana, SDM Raikot, SE PWD and AAI officers.
Ludhiana, August 24, 2024: With a view to review the ongoing construction work of the prestigious Halwara airport project at Halwara, near here, MP (Rajya Sabha) Sanjeev Arora visited site along with ACA Glada, ADC Ludhiana, SDM Raikot, SE PWD and AAI officers.
Arora spent a couple of hours there and visited every corner of the ongoing development of the Airport to get firsthand information about the progress of the ongoing work. He inspected the ongoing work very minutely and discussed every point with the officials such as parking bay for aircrafts, linkage with main runway of Air Force, fitting of air-conditioners (ACs), lighting, CCTV cameras, firefighting arrangements, power connection, security by Punjab Police once operational, parking space, entrance and outer elevation of building of terminals.
Arora said the Halwara airport project is a dream project of the state government, especially the chief minister Bhagwant Mann who has been taking keen interest in completing this project at the earliest possible time. He categorically asked the officials to let him apprise in case there is any kind of hinderance in smooth working of the project at any level of the government. He said there will be no shortage of funds for the project.
Further, Arora said not only the business community of Ludhiana but of whole of the state is eyeing on the project because now everyone wants this project to be completed as early as possible. The project has already been delayed due to one or another reason in the past, he said, and strongly told the officials to not to miss another deadline for completion. He hoped that the project would improve the economy of the state after completion. Even people will have easy access to national and international destinations once flights are started, he said.
Arora was apprised that a couple of approvals were required. On this, he assured that he would take up this matter with the concerned higher authorities to get all the clearances. The officials also gave a presentation through a site map to Arora to make all the points clear for smooth construction work.
Meanwhile, Arora said the project is almost nearing completion. He hoped that the project would be completed within the next few months.
Arora along with all the concerned officials took a test ride on a portion of under-construction elevated road from entrance on Ferozepur Road to Mini Secretariat. This patch will be opened to the public in the next 7 to 10 days after completion.
Arora stopped his convoy for a few minutes on this patch of the elevated road and discussed with the concerned authorities. He asked the authorities to open this portion of the elevated road to the public after completing all the required tests.
Later, Arora had meeting with DC Suraabhi Malik along with all the officials to go over Halwara Airport progress and that of other development activities.
Arora categorically asked the officials to work efficiently and speedily to fulfill the agenda of overall development of the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
Arora discussed and reviewed development projects related to NHAI, GLADA, PWD and other departments.
Arora further was apprised that Tender has been allotted for 4 over bridges on Sidhwan Canal towards South City.
ACA Glada also assured that all roads and infrastructure projects coming under them would be completed within 3 months.
Southern Bye Pass and Rahon Road projects were discussed in detail with PWD officers. Requisite instructions were given to PSPCL and Irrigation Departments for NOCs/works for early completion.
The problems in acquiring lands for NHAI highways going through Ludhiana District were also discussed.
Arora also asked the concerned officials about progress in setting up of cycle track and parking along elevated road in the city. He was apprised that the estimates have been sent to concerned higher authorities for further necessary action.
He also directed the officials concerned to complete a portion of elevated road up to Bharat Nagar Chowk and Bus Stand as early as possible to avoid inconvenience to commuters.
Arora was positive that once all projects are completed Ludhiana will be a different city to live in.
