MP Arora takes stock of Redevelopment and Upgradation of Ludhiana railway station project
MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana, Sanjeev Arora has got update as on date of Rs.528.95 Crores Redevelopment and Upgradation of Ludhiana Railway Station Project from the officials concerned.
Ludhiana, July 2, 2024: MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana, Sanjeev Arora has got update as on date of Rs.528.95 Crores Redevelopment and Upgradation of Ludhiana Railway Station Project from the officials concerned.
The work of this project was started on February 2, 2023. The project is likely to be completed in the first half of 2025. The project is being through Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contract.
Giving more details here today, Arora said as per the status report the work of Geotechnical Investigation, Survey work and Architectural Design Approvals is already 100 per cent completed. Relocation Work is also 100 per cent completed. The work of Structural Design Approvals is 80 per cent completed. MEP Design Approvals are 75 per cent completed.
As far as the work of Multi Level Car Parking (MLCP) is concerned, the work of second floor slab is completed and the work of ramp work is in progress on second floor. On East Side Main Station Building, the Main station Column work is completed up to composite level.
Similarly, as far as the work of elevated approach road concerned, the work of 14 piers and 17 pile caps is completed. Likewise, the work of East side Under Ground Tank Structure is also completed.
As far as the work of Concourse and FOB (Foot Over Bridge) is concerned, foundation work of concourse at Plat Form No.1 is complete.
The work of construction of multi-storied quarters is also going on. RCC parapet work of Type-II (A&B Block) is in progress. Terrace floor is completed of the Type-II C Block and 4th floor slab is in progress of Type-II D Block. Likewise, column work is in progress of Type-III (E Block) and 3rd floor slab work is in progress of F Block. As far as the work of construction of multi-storied quarters of Type-IV is concerned 1st floor slab work is in progress.
The status report further reveals that Terrace slab and mumty work of Rest House are completed.
The work of Hospital Building is also going on. The work of Terrace slab and Mumty is already completed and AAC block work of 1st floor is in progress.
The Ludhiana railway station was established way back in the year 1860 during the Britishers Rule. And since then, this railway station – a junction has never undergone any major renovation.
Meanwhile, Arora said the work of redevelopment and upgradation of Dhandari Kalan railway station under the `Amrit Bharat Station Scheme’, is also going on. The works being undertaken include entrance porch, entrance lobby, five ticket counters, high level platforms, new platform No.3, increased circulating area and two foot over bridges (FOBs) with the facility of ramps for Divyangs. The facility of platform shelters is also being created. Adequate number of toilet blocks are being set up for passengers. There will be provision of water taps at platforms. Proper seating arrangements will be there. There will be 110 square meters of air-conditioned waiting area for passengers. First class waiting rooms for gents and ladies are also being constricted. There will be an executive lounge. Also, there will be provision for green area. Around 25 per cent work is still to be completed. Mostly, the finishing work, the work of FOBs and development of green area is pending.
Arora said earlier the work at the Dhandari Kalan railway station was supposed to be completed by April, 2024. Now, the deadline for the completion has been fixed for November, 2024. A sum of Rs.11.62 Crore have been earmarked for these works. He said he is regularly monitoring everything and keep on doing this till all the works are completed.
It was Arora’s initiative to include Ludhiana’s railway station and Dhandari railway station in the first phase and for this he has been meeting the Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw rgularly. Arora thanked the Minister for same.
