MP Arora visits house of Dr Surjit Patar, expresses sympathies with aggrieved family
MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora visited house of noted Punjabi poet Padma Shri Dr Surjit Patar here on Friday to express his sympathies with the aggrieved family members of Dr Patar who died on May 11.
Ludhiana, May 25, 2024: MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora visited house of noted Punjabi poet Padma Shri Dr Surjit Patar here on Friday to express his sympathies with the aggrieved family members of Dr Patar who died on May 11.
Arora excused for his absence during Dr Patar’s bhog ceremony on May 20. He said he was away to abroad therefore he could not attend the bhog ceremony.
Dr Patar’s wife Bhupinder Kaur, younger brother Upkar Singh, son Ankur Patar, nephew Swaraj Singh, daughter-in-law Manreet Kaur and close family friend Harpreet Sandhu (Advocate) were present on the occasion.
Arora recalled his meetings with Dr Patar in the recent past. He assured of providing any kind of assistance to the aggrieved family members of Dr Patar.
Arora said there was a need to make a small documentary on Dr Patar, adding that this documentary could keep memories of the departed poet alive in the hearts of people.
On the occasion, Upkar Singh read two pieces of literature in the memory of his elder brother Dr Patar.
