MP Arora with help of Consulate in Dubai rescues a Punjabi

Ludhiana, July 22, 2024: MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora with the help of Consulate General of India’s office in Dubai has succeeded in rescuing a Punjabi from there.

Giving this information here on Monday, Arora said a few days ago Punjab Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh had apprised him of Navdeep Singh, a resident of Ghuman Colony, Patiala. Arora was told that Navdeep Singh was suffering from a serious illness, resulting to which he was undergoing treatment at Medeor Hospital in Dubai. Navdeep Singh had no money to pay the hefty bill of the hospital. 

Further, Arora was apprised by the Punjab Health Minister that Navdeep Singh had sought urgent financial assistance to pay the hospital bill and sought help to send him back to India. On this, Arora, took up this matter with the Consulate General of India in Dubai for rescue of a Punjabi on humanitarian grounds. 

On July 11, Arora wrote to Consulate General of India in Dubai, suggesting to please get the amount settled for 50000 the United Arab Emirates dirham (AED) with the hospital and he would get taken care of. Further, Arora wrote that also, if Navdeep Singh requires would get his return ticket to India taken care of. 

In response to Arora’s message, Aradhana Yadav, Vice Consul CGI Dubai, on July 12, wrote that “we have spoken to the hospital management, and they are ready to give a discount of 80k AED in total bill”. Arora said he was thankful to CGI Dubai for immediate response. Finally, Arora got arranged the money from his friend in Dubai and hospital Bill was settled. 

Navdeep Singh was discharged from the hospital and is in Dubai. According to him he will be returning soon to India. Navdeep Singh was suffering from serious ailment, and he was admitted to the hospital in an unconsciousness condition on June 27.
