Rohtak, 16 March, 2025: Lok Sabha MP Deepender Hooda attended the martyrdom football competition program organized by the Gram Panchayat in Bahalba village of Meham constituency on Sunday.
Encouraging the players, he said that talent of sports is present in every village of Haryana, recognizing which the previous Congress government led by former CM Bhupendra Singh Hooda implemented the 'bring a medal, get a post' policy in the interest of the players. Under this policy, medal winning talented players got jobs directly on DSP and other respectable government posts, due to which a new passion was created among the youth of the state to make sports a career. As a result, Haryana players won the maximum number of medals in Olympics, Commonwealth, Asian Games and other world championships and brought laurels to the country and state.
But the BJP government distorted this excellent sports policy and stopped it and also deprived the medal winning players of their rights; MP alleged. The Hooda government of Congress made a mandatory 'SPAT' policy with a view to developing sports talent in school children from an early age, under which top performing children were given an honorarium of Rs 1500-2000. Sports stadiums were arranged at the rural level, coaches etc. were appointed in them. But today players are facing a lack of sports facilities in the entire state.
Deepender Hooda also reminded the BJP government to fulfill the promises made to the public during the elections. He said that during the elections, the BJP had said that the employees appointed through HKRN will be made permanent, but now they are being removed. Forget about the permanent jobs of Safai Karmacharis, even the salaries of Safai Karamcharis have not been received for many months. This makes it clear that instead of fulfilling the promises made to the public during the elections, BJP is doing the opposite.
MP Hooda said that the opposition will give full cooperation in fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of the public and will also fulfill its responsibility of highlighting the public problems. MP Hooda said that BJP has forgotten the promises made to the public in its election manifesto in 2014 and 2019. He said that the Congress party, as a strong opposition, will put pressure on the BJP government to fulfill every promise made to the public. Meham MLA Balram Dangi was also present.
