College to benefit youth from 60 villages of area: Dr Amar Singh

MP Dr Amar Singh laid foundation stone of Government Degree College at Village Burj Hari Singh

Raikot (Ludhiana): The Punjab government is making efforts to ensure high quality education to all youth of the state. With the efforts of Fatehgarh Sahib MP Dr Amar Singh, a Government Degree College is coming up in Raikot constituency, and its foundation stone was laid by the MP today. Senior Congress leaders Mr Kamil Boparai and Mr Jagpreet Singh Buttar were also present on the occasion.
    While providing information, Dr Amar Singh informed that as there was no government college in Raikot constituency, the Punjab government has decided to construct one with a cost of Rs 8.83 crore at village Burj Hari Singh of the constituency. He said that with the coming up of this college, youth from more than 60 villages of the area would be benefitted.
    He further stated that the building of this college would be completed in next nine months time and once classes start at this college, youth from the area would not have to visit far away places for education.
    Dr Amar Singh informed that the work related to repair of two main roads of the area is also near completion. He said that around Rs 20.65 crore would be spent on this project. He said that the Jagraon-Raikot-Malerkotla Road (till the jurisdiction of district Ludhiana) is 13.05 km in distance and an amount of Rs 4.14 crore is being spent on its repair. Similarly, an amount of Rs 7.67 crore is being spent on the repair of 19.20 km long Chhapar-Raikot Road.
    He stated that all these development projects would be completed within the set time frame and the company involved in repair of these roads, would also maintain it for next 5 years time. He said that the Capt Amarinder Singh led Punjab government is also set to start several development projects in Fatehgarh Sahib Lok Sabha constituency.
