MP Manish Tewari meets Union Minister Nitin Gadkari; raises the issue of construction of flyover at Tribune Chowk

Chandigarh, February 27, 2025: Manish Tewari, MP from Chandigarh & Former Union Minister Information & Broadcasting Government of India met Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways Government of India on the 14th February, 2025, in his chambers in the Lok Sabha.
Tewari raised the issue with regard to the construction of the flyover in Tribune Chowk in order to mitigate the traffic congestion that takes place when vehicles coming from Delhi on NH44 enters Chandigarh.
Subsequently Tewari also spoke to Secretary Surface Transport Ministry, Ministry of Surface Transport & Highways also to follow up the non construction of the Tribune Chowk flyover that has been pending for the past 10 years .
The Ministry subsequently informed Tewari that they are awaiting a proper proposal from the Chandigarh administration with regard to the proposed flyover.
The Ministry assured Tewari that once the proposal is received and appraised it can be executed as a project of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
Tewari appealed to the Chandigarh administration to kindly send a proper proposal to the MORTH at the earliest in this regard.
