MP Sanjeev Arora takes stock of developments works in Civil Hospital, status of Halwara Airport, and NHAI projects 

Lord Mahavira Civil Hospital in Ludhiana is all set to receive a major infrastructure upgrade to provide modern healthcare facilities to patients with Rajya Sabha MP from Ludhiana, Sanjeev Arora, announced a contribution of Rs. 2 crore from his MPLAD funds, with Rs. 1 crore allocated for upgrading the hospital's infrastructure and another Rs. 1 crore for purchasing new medical equipment. This is aimed at making Civil Hospital one of the best healthcare facilities in Punjab.

Ludhiana, July 4, 2024: Lord Mahavira Civil Hospital in Ludhiana is all set to receive a major infrastructure upgrade to provide modern healthcare facilities to patients with Rajya Sabha MP from Ludhiana, Sanjeev Arora, announced a contribution of Rs. 2 crore from his MPLAD funds, with Rs. 1 crore allocated for upgrading the hospital's infrastructure and another Rs. 1 crore for purchasing new medical equipment. This is aimed at making Civil Hospital one of the best healthcare facilities in Punjab. 

An amount of Rs. 1 crore for infrastructure upgrades was released after the meeting today.

Presiding over a meeting to review the progress of development works at Civil Hospital, along with the status of Halwara Airport and NHAI projects, MP Sanjeev Arora, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney, mentioned that the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has given top priority to revamping healthcare infrastructure to provide quality services to the people. Rs. 1 crore will be spent on major infrastructure upgrades, while another Rs. 1 crore will be used to purchase top-class medical equipment, aiming to make it the best government health facility for patients. New high-tech equipment will be purchased based on the doctors' requirements, to ensure that patients can receive all healthcare services under one roof. He instructed officials to establish a supervisory committee to ensure speedy completion of the works. He also asked the contractors working on the laying new sewerage system, floor and road tiling, washrooms, and the refurbishment of the Mother and Child Center in civil hospital to speed up the pace of work. The project to repair two lifts and waterproofing the entire civil hospital's building will begin this week. 

The MP reiterated his commitment to providing quality medical services to the people of Ludhiana and stated that he is available round the clock for them.

Furthermore, MP Sanjeev Arora also reviewed the progress of development works at Halwara Airport and stated that he would soon meet with high-ranking IAF officials to address pending works at the IAF campus to ensure the prompt start of flight operations. He also urged contractors to submit the safety certificate for the terminal building to the executive agency.

Arora also discussed the progress of NHAI projects in Ludhiana. He mentioned that tenders for constructing a 21-km cycle track, including both sides, worth Rs. 19 crores along the Ladowal bypass, have already been floated by NHAI. Additionally, National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML) has initiated work on developing parking lots along the elevated road (Ludhiana-Ferozepur), which will alleviate traffic congestion and benefit the public at large. He also reviewed the status of Ludhiana-Ropar, Southern bypass, and the construction of four bridges over the Sidhwan canal. He also announced a contribution of Rs. 15 lakh for the upgrade of Bachat Bhawan. 

Arora urged officials to ensure that development works are completed in a timely and result-oriented manner for the benefit of the residents. 

Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney and ADC Anmol Singh Dhaliwal welcomed the MP to the district administrative complex.
