MP Tejasvi Surya inaugurates RV University's B.Tech & PG 2024 Batch, Stresses on India's Global Opportunities

Bengaluru, September 21, 2024: RV University, a new-age global university for liberal education, welcomed a new cohort of students from B.Tech. (Hons.) programme at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, as well as various postgraduate programmes across its other schools, including the School of Business, School of Economics and Public Policy, School of Design and Innovation, School of Law, and School of Film, Media and Creative Arts. Tejasvi Surya, Member of Parliament from Bangalore South and National President of Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha was the chief guest.
 
The event was graced by Dr. (h.c.) A.V.S. Murthy, Chancellor of RV University, who delivered the presidential address; D.P. Nagaraj, Pro Chancellor of RVU, who spoke about the university's future plans and initiatives; President of RSST, Dr. M.P. Shyam along with members of the Trust and Nikhil Murthy, Director of RVU, who delivered the vote of thanks for the function.
 
Member of Parliament (Bangalore South) and National President of BJYM, Tejasvi Surya emphasized the unique opportunity facing today's students. He highlighted India's position as a land of opportunity in the global context, urging students to appreciate their privileged starting point and to contribute to India's development.
 
"We are living at a point in time in history when we are the most prosperous, the most healthy, and we have the most opportunities to make the best use of human potential," Surya said. "Our generation has one unique purpose collectively, and that is to make India a prosperous developed nation. In all of these different pursuits of academic excellence in the coming years, don't lose focus of the big picture. Wealth creation has always happened at universities. It is in university laboratories and classrooms that great ideas, which have later been taken to the market in a commercial format, have come out."
